Pair of Gujarat Earrings (Panddi)

Saurashtra, Gujarat, Northwest India

First half of the 20th century

High karat gold (22k) with filigree and granulation work. The earrings have been adapted for contemporary wear by the addition of an 18 karat gold stem.

4 cm (w) x 7 cm (h). The length including the stems is 8.5 cm.

These panddi in rolled gold have intricate floral decoration in filigree and granulation.
